Capitac is built by Jeroom Decuypere and Jan Ooms. In a conversation on May 8, Jeroom shared why they started Capitac and what they see in the market.

In Jeroom’s words, many real-estate entrepreneurs in Belgium hit a wall. They want to grow, but their wealth is tied up in bricks and mortar. Bank financing can take months. Smaller tickets aren’t attractive for banks. And raising funding across the border (Belgium to the Netherlands or the other way around)can feel out of reach.

Capitac aims to change that. As a real-estate crowdfunding platform, they connect investors directly with projects. With an ECSP license from the Belgian regulator (FSMA), they’re ready to serve the part of the market traditional banks often leave behind.

Capitac chose GoCredible as their payment partner, making Capitac our first Belgian crowdfunding customer.

Why Capitac chose GoCredible

As Jeroom explained, the Capitac team did their homework. They spoke to large providers like Stripe and Worldline, but repeatedly ran into the same issue: standard solutions with percentage-based pricing that didn’t fit their model.

They were looking for a partner who thinks along, beyond an API and documentation. That includes guidance on the right payment setup: when to use direct debit, how to organize settlements, what holding periods make sense, and how to structure the flow end-to-end.

The first contact happened via LinkedIn, which quickly led to a direct call and a fast reality check: does it fit, and if so, how do we set it up? That no-nonsense approach was exactly what Capitac needed.

Cross-border, without the complexity

One key advantage Jeroom emphasized: SEPA makes it possible to operate across Belgium and the Netherlands with the same infrastructure. Investors from both countries can participate through the same flows, no separate setups, no double integrations.

For Capitac, building a platform for projects on both sides of the border, that’s essential. They can scale without payments becoming a bottleneck.

Building it together

Together with the Capitac team, we mapped the payment flows, set up KYC, and supported the integration.

We’re looking forward to what’s next with Capitac.
